Here’s what we will do together:

• We will cycle along the river and on quiet roads (about 1 hour). The route is almost entirely on pedestrian and cycle paths, making it very safe.
• We will reach Villa Reale. We will visit the park, walking immersed in nature and admiring camellias, centuries-old trees, and remarkable architecture. The park is made up of gardens of extraordinary beauty, offering a journey through history and botany. We will also visit the interior of the Villa, walking through the rooms that were once the residence of Princess Elisa Baciocchi, Napoleon’s sister. Elisa renovated the building in neoclassical style and expanded the park, introducing the cultivation of camellias.
• We will also visit the museum dedicated to Pope Leo XIII, located in the Clock House. The museum was created by his granddaughter, Countess Mimì Pecci Blunt, who purchased the property in 1923. A cultured and eclectic woman, she restored the Villa as it was in Elisa’s time and transformed it into a vibrant cultural and artistic center.
• After the visit, we will have free time to relax in the shade of the park’s large trees and take photos.
• We will return to Lucca along the same pedestrian and cycle path used on the way there.
